THE BASALTIC MOUNTAIN
A dive among basaltic lava explosions!
When we have just plunged from the boat, flanking the southern part of the shallows in a few meters we’ll see a lava arch in all its beauty, during this dive we often observed big sea eagle that fly creating a triangular shape; after they plunge towards the lowest part of the basaltic mountain that at the base even touches 80 meters of depth. By observing the basaltic formation of almost perfect and regular geometrical shape, we find ourselves in a black sandy area together with particular stones called “coculi” that create a suggestive effect. At the end of the dive we can see a big amphitheater full of nudibranchs that for macrophotography lovers is a very unbeatable place. We return along the amphitheater, stop for compulsory decompression and emerge on the surface after about 55 minutes.
