The Wreck of Arturo Volpe

THE WRECK OF ARTURO VOLPE

A ship carrying woods that in 1971 because of the careening of the shipment sank on a sandy sea bottom. The visibility is very good as the flow prevents the sediment of loam on the wreck. The wreck can be partially visited by using air recharge or can be totally visited by using trimix. On the wreck it’s possible to see big wolf fishes or musdea (Phycis phycis), some groupers (Epinephelus marginatus ) and with a bit of luck groups of mediterranean barracudas or Sphyraena sphyraena
