THE WRECK OF VALFIORITA
One of the most beautiful wreck in the strait of Messina!
The 8 of July 1943 a ship sailing from Messina to Palermo was attacked by the British submarine sank broken in two. The wreck lies on a 60-70 meters sea bottom for ¾ in perfect line of sailing, while the prow poured on a side with the deck toward NW. For visiting it all at last 3 dives are necessary and it is addressed only to technical divers because of the high depth and the duration. It’s possible to go into the holds where to find Jeep, motorbikes, trucks and munitions.
The ship is inhabited by Epinephelus marginatus, dentex and Sparus pagrus, sometimes also by Homarus gammarus.
