BIG GAME FISHING
Big game fishing, also known as offshore sportfishing or blue-water fishing, was born in the big ocean and it’s a very fight between the fisherman and the prey in a boundless environment without limits.
In our seas, big game fishing is only for pelagic predators such us tuna fishes, swordfishes, spearfishes, mahi-mahi, albacores.
To take advantage of this technique sometimes it’s necessary to move miles away from the coast.
Once we get to the chosen place, we lower and set the lures in a way that they don’t come out of the water because of the boat’s speed. We carry out the bathymetric ranges and by using a fish finder we explore the presence of fishes.
In the Ionian sea in the period of April – May the prey par excellence of big fishing game is bluefin tuna, a type of tuna that now reaches even 300 kg of weight, while it’s easier to find it in bunch of 20-60kg each one.
